Abstract:In order to improve the application performance of carbon fiber composite materials in hydraulic engineering,the peak load and failure morphology of five types of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP)-steel specimens (fatigue-free,galvanic corrosion,and fatigue specimens)were compared and analyzed.The results showed that the peak load of the aramid fiber specimens in the adhesive layer was higher than that of the aramid fiber specimens in the adhesive layer under the same service environment.Both corosion and fatigue had an adverse effct on the peak load of the composites,and galvanic corrosion had a greater impact on the peak load than fatigue. Compared withthe non-corrosive and fatigue-free ammonia-doped porous carbon fiber (NCNF)specimens,the average peak load of the adhesivelayer withand without aramid fiber was reduced tovarying degrees.Thecohesion failureof the bonding layer occurred inallfive types of composite specimens,and the failure mode of the fatigue specimens was the cohesion failureof the joint layerandthe CFRP interlayer failure.Theadhesive layerof thecomposite test piece was stil a weak area.
