Abstract:Thispaper targets low-power design forisland-styleFPGAsand proposesalow-powerclustering algorithmbased onindividualwirelengthprediction.Byconstructingawirelengthpredictionmodelthataccountsfortopologicalstructure,patleveldiffrences,andreconvergentefects,themethodenablesefectiveestimationofinterconnectdynamicpowerconsumption. Thehigh-powerinterconnectsarepreferentiallyclusteredwithinlogicblocks toeduceglobalpowerconsumption.Experimental resultsshow thatthe proposed methodcanreduce dynamic powerconsumption significantlyacrossmultiple benchmark circuits incomparison withthetraditionalalgorithP-T-VPack,withparticularlynotableimprovements inclock network powereiciency.
