Abstract: "Can air occupy space?" is a lesson in the "air" unit. Whether air occupies space will be contro? versial for third graders. This lesson mainly focuses on the design of the whole process, focusing on problems, discovering contradictions, proving contradictions and testing contradictions. Teaching is carried out according to students’ thinking and position, and discussion is carried out step by step, so that students can understand that air can occupy space like other substances.
