Isolation, identification and antimicrobial susceptibility analysis of Leclercia adecarboxylata from Scophthalmus maximus

Abstract:To determine the cause of sudden mortality in cultured Scophthalmus maximus at a Qinhuangdao aquaculture facility,pathogenic were isolated,identified,and subjected to antimicrobial susceptibility analysis.Dominant strains isolated from lesioned tissues of diseased turbot underwent physiological and biochemical characterization,16S rRNA sequencing,and identification. Artificial chalenge tests and antimicrobial susceptibility profiling were conducted to establish a foundation for disease control. Results indicate that identical dominant bacterial strains were isolated from major tissues of Scophthalmus maximus. Both physiological- biochemical characterization and molecular detection confirmed the pathogen as Leclercia adecarboxylata.Artificial challenge tests established this bacterium as the causative agent of the disease outbreak. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing revealed:highly sensitive to florfenicol, etc; intermediate sensitivity to ampicillin,etc;resistance to oxacillin,etc. This study documents the first isolation of Leclercia adecarboxylata from farmed marine fish. The antimicrobial susceptibility profile provides evidence一based control strategies,while underscoring the critical importance of standardized management practices in aquaculture operations.
