Effect of astaxanthin and β - carotene on growth performance and Antioxidant capacity in Oreochromis niloticus

Abstract：The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of astaxanthin and β- carotene on growth performance and antioxidant parameters in Oreochromis niloticus. A total of 216 healthy O ，niloticus （initial body weight： 56.00g±0.01g） ）were randomly allotted into 3 groups with 4 replicates each（18 fish per replicate）. Three feed formulations were prepared according to the principle of equal nitrogen and fat content：control group（T1）， 100mg/kg astaxanthin group（T2），and -carotene group（T3）. The experiment was conducted over a 56-day period.The results demonstrated that SGR of T2 and T3 groups increased significantly compared to the T1 group. Serum analyses revealed that T2 group showed significantly higher activities of CAT， GSH-Px and SOD compared to T3 and T1 groups. In liver tissue，T2 group demonstrated significantly greater CAT activity than T3 and T1 groups，while the T3 group exhibited significantly stronger T一AOC than Tl group. These findings indicate that appropriate doses of astaxanthin and β- carotene effectively enhance the growth performance of O . niloticus and improve their antioxidant capacity.

尼罗罗非鱼（Oreochromisniloticus）作为世界上重要的经济鱼类品种之一，具有生长速度快、抗病能力强的特点，在我国主要养殖于广东、海南等地区[1]。（剩余5145字）
