Research on the infectivity ofMaMV-DH 01 to hosts at different growth stages

Abstract:To investigate the infection characteristics of Cyanophage MaMV-DHOl against Microcystis aeruginosa FACHB-524 at different growth stages,infection experiments were conducted during both the logarithmic and stationary phases. Host cell density and extracellular progeny Cyanophage gene copy numbers were monitored. The results demonstrated that:Logarithmic phase hosts exhibited significant lysis within 12 hours post-infection and were largely eliminated within 24 hours,with extracellular Cyanophage copies reaching 7.9×108 copies/mL. Stationary phase hosts showed delayed lysis until 36 hours,with only 2.45×108 copies/mL detected at 24 hours.These findings indicate that MaMV-DHOI possesses higher infection efficiency and lytic capacity in logarithmic-phase hosts, highlighting the critical influence of host physiological status on the infection process.
