Analysis and evaluation of muscle nutritional components in Distoechodon macrophthalmus

Abstract:Distoechodon macrophthalmus ,a native fish species in Yunnan, inhabits Chenghai Lakeone of the three major spirulina production areas. To comprehensively understand and utilize this species,conventional biochemical analysis was conducted to examine the nutritional composition of its it muscle tissue. Analysis revealed that the muscle tissue of Distoechodon macrophthalmus contains 16 amino acids (13.70g/100g±1.47g/100g) ,including7 essential amino acids(EAA).TheEAA/ non-EAA was 66.62% ,and the Essential Amino Acids Index(EAAI) reached 66.42% ,meeting the FAO/WHO standard with balanced amino acid composition. Fatty acids included 6 saturated faty acids(SFA, 0. 11g/100g± 0. 01g/100g) and 13 unsaturated fatty acids (UFA, 0.26g/100g± 0.04g/100g ),including nervonic acid ( C24:1 1, 0.01g/100g±0.00g/100g) . The muscle tissue of
Distoechodon macrophthalmus is rich in kalium (K, 3 350. 00mg/kg±220. 00mg/kg) ,phosphorus (204 (P,1150.00mg/kg±80.00mg/kg) and calcium,(C a,619.00mg/kg±190.28mg/kg) ,and contains the trace element iron (Fe, 9.10mg/kg±0.75mg/kg) )and zinc( Zn , 8.78mg/kg± 1.80mg/kg ). Its crude protein content (16.77g/100g±2.46g/100g) is notably high,while crude fat content is lower than that of Cyprinus carpio, Carassius auratus , Ctenopharyngodon idella, My- lopharyngodon piceus and Aristichthys nobilis. In summary,Distoechodon macrophthalmus demonstrates balanced nutrition,contains nervonic acid in its fatty acids,is rich in minerals,and holds significant edible value and resource development potential.
