Abstract: The advancement of medical English learning necessitates the adept handling of various factors suchas“people”(participants),“things”(physical environment),“emotions”(affctive influences),and their interactive relations.The learning environment plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of medical English teaching.This paper focuses on the“affordance”design of medical English learning environments ina digital context,systematically examines existing issues such as resource scarcity,inadequate interactivity,and leam ers’motivation deficit,and proposes design principles, frameworks,and implementation pathways. It emphasizes the integration of technological,linguistic,affective,and sociocultural affordances,and combines with innovative learning scenarios and cultural atmosphere cultivation as well as multi-party dialogue mechanisms,in order to stimulate the effectiveness of medical English learners,mitigate“negative”affordances,and hamessthe synergistic efects of teachers,students,and teaching administrators.The design aims to construct a unified,open,and dynamic medical English leaming ecosystem,enhancing learners' sensitivity toenvironmental perception,initiative ininterpretation,and effectiveness inaction,fostering highorder perceptions of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture,and facilitating the dissemination of TCM culture.
