Abstract:The resistance gene mcr-1,as a key genetic element mediating bacterial resistance to "last-resort”antibiotic colistin,has become a research hotspot since its discovery and poses a potential threat to public health. This paper aims to investigate the fate of colistin resistance gene mcr-l in the planting-breeding cycling system. First,we summarize the resistance mechanisms, horizontal gene transfer, fitness costs,and compensatory evolution of mcr-1. Subsequently,we examine its occurrence,fate,and horizontal transmission characteristics in the planting-breeding cycling system,along with the key factors influencing its dissemination. Finally,we propose corresponding control measures, providing insights for high-quality development of circular agriculture and public health security.
