An Investigation into the Reasons for the Flourishing of Mohism during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Periods -An Analysis from the Perspective of Communication Studies

Abstract：Mohism gained great prominence during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods.Using Harold Lasswell's“5W”theoryasaframewrk，thispaperexploresthereasonsbehindtheflourishing of Mohismfromtheperspective ofcommunication studies.Mohismefectivelypersuaded itsaudiencethrough“rhetoric，"withitsideassuchas“Heaven's Will"and“EnlighteningGhosts"gaining publicacceptance，while“Non-aggession"and“UniversalLove”addressedthe needs of the common people and small feudallords，promoting the widespread dissemination of Mohist thought.
