Abstract：Asoneofthegloballrecognzedlaboratoryqualitycontrolmethods，proficiencytestingplaysanirreplaceablerole inevaluatingthetechnicalleveloftestingandinspectioninstitutions.Thispaperpresents threestatisticalmethodscommonly usedincurrentproficiencytestingatomeandabroad，namelytheclaicalstatisticalmethod，theiterativemethdndthe quartilemethod，ndanalyzestheapplicabilityofseveralstatisticalmethodsandthecalculationprocesswhentherearealarge numberofinspectionand testing institutions.Taking theactualtestingdataofrebar tensiletestofmore thantwo hundred institutions inacertainprovinceasanexample，appropriatestatisticalmethodswereselectedforcalculation，andthestatistical results were analyzedand compared.Theresultsshow thatin thecaseoflargesampledata，thequartilemethod，which combinestheonvenienceoftheclasscalstatisticalmethodandthefectiveessoftheiterativemethod，caneficietlytain accurate results.
