A Study on Mo Youzhi' s Collection of Books from the Song and Yuan Dynasties

Abstract：MoouzhasnoedConfucianscolarinteateQingDastyadanextensivecolectionofs，ichord morethan3，200varietiesandover470ovolumes.Among themwere46SongDynastyeditionsand37YuanDynastyeditionsofancient booksand paintings.Theseancientbooks fromthe Songand Yuan dynasties notonlycontainrichculturalconnotations suchas philosophicaltoughtsmanstiitsducatioalocepts，utteirstocaldocumetadcadeicesearchualso becomparedwiththeclasicworksincludedin the“NationalCatalogofPrecious AncientBooks”andthe“ReconstructedFieEditions ofChineseAncientBooks”.TheprefacesandpostscriptsWritenbyMoYouzhionthepreciousSongandYuanDynastyancientbooks inhiscolectioexpoundonttodsofentifgdlltigantbookediosfoaprofessoalpespeiete theoriginandciculationofthirprintingcopingandcolltionTsewoksavebcoeimportantclasscferenesfoedentificationofancientbookeiosinChia，playngacrcialoleintheinheritaneoftheCineeculturalcontextandtecotiation ofexcellenttioalsueIfstscdvocaestatotemoyallauedate collctorsofbooksshouldcoselytrackthedistributiontrajectoryofteSongandYuanDyastyancientbookscolectedbyMoYouzhi. Oncediscovered，thesebooksshouldbemadepublicinatimelymannersothattheacademiccommunitycandeplyexplortheirhistoricaldocumentvalueandculturalandacademicvalu.Bydoingsothe memoryoftheChineseculturalcontextcarredintheseacient bookscanbeactivated，enablingthemtoejuvenateincontemporarysocietyandinjectnewimpetusintotheprosperityanddevelopent of excellent traditional Chinese culture.
