A Study on the Military Thought of Qian Qingyun， a Qing Dynasty Military Scholar， in the Construction of the Manao Mountain Fortress

Abstract：TheanaoMoutainFortressruinsinFenggang CountyaNationalKeyCulturalRelicsProtection UnitarerematsconstructeddurigtheXian-TongRebelionperiodbythelocalmilitarysholarQianQingyun，whofundeditsestablishment.Tefortre ingeniouslyintegatedsufaceterrainithundegroundarstcaves，fomingacohesivestructurethatxcelledinbothofenseandefense，distingusngitselfamongcontemporarymiltarystrongholds.Researcheveals tatQianQingyun，proficientiothiilad militaryarts，extensivelystudiedmilitarylasicsthroughpreparationforteimperiallitaryexaminations，deplygaspedstategic principles，andappledthisknowledge toincoporatetheessncefanientChineseilitarypilosophyintohefortress’sdesign.He understood theimportanceof“sharedcommitmentbetweesuperiorsandsubordinates”（Shang XiaTongYu）forwartimemobilization， activelyhediggoveetcalstadisaninagtrosanigdenssdolutariludingtott theregionanditspeopleRecogzingtedecisiveroleofknowingtheenmyandonesel（ZiBZhiJi） inwarfare，hrategically deployedwatchtowers，secrettunnels，andtrenchestomonitorenemymovementsandrelayintellgence.Awareoftheneedto“void openconfrontatsdeploitaroteain”（BZhiYuYYaoZYuE）ouubeed，heetiulouslyicopoatedro pases，erilousokepotsndtrucedpastpedeaders.Adiioallovtivelyablsdtelket withinthe fortressdrawingonclasscalmilitarytheoriesabouttheoleofresourcs in warfare，therebycontrollngsupplychains. Consequently，te Manao Mountain Fortres exerteda formidable deterrent efect onrebel forces，ensuring localsecurity.
