Narrative Reconstruction in the Spanish Translation of Old Stories Retold byLaureano Ramirez： A Case Study of Mending Heaven

Abstract： The Spanish sinologistLaureano Ramirezsuccessfullyreconstructsavibrantnarative world inhis translationofOld StoriesRetold，demostratingexceptionalcossulturaletelingabilities.FocusingonistranlationoftefirststoyMending Heaven，thisstudytriestoexplorthetranslatorsartofretellingviaananalysisoftephenomenonofnaativereconstructionin translation withinthetheoretical modelofnarrativecrticism.I'srevealedthathetranslatorincludesoriginallegends intheappendix，reatinganitertexualmacro-naratiestructuretatcontrasts ithtemaintoryhileadustigthemicoarativepo gresionbyalteringtheparagraphsegmentationof teoriginalstory.Hisreconstructionofthenarativespace creativelyeproduces the artistic efects oftheoriginal text.Histranslation alsocausessome change inthe naativeviewpointand the imageof Nuwa， which exposesanideological diferencebetween theimpliedauthor/translatorandtheimpliedauthorof theoriginal works.
