Abstract： The keytocoordinateddevelopmentofregionaleconomy lies inthecoordination betweenpopulationsizedistributionandindustrial structureoptimization.Basedonthepaneldataof31 provinces （districtsandcities）in Chinafrom2011—2021， this paperempiricalytests theimpact mechanismofpopulationsize distributiononthecoordinateddevelopmentofregionaleconomy.Researchhasshownthatpopulationsizedistributionpromotescoordinatedregionaleconomicdevelopment;Theoptimization of industrialstructureplaysamediatingroleinthecordinateddevelopmentofregionaleconomythroughpopulationsizedistribution;Threisegioalterogeityintempactofopuationsedistrbutioogioaloocoordiatio，ithest ernregionshowingasignificantpromotingefect.Tothisend，weneedtoimprovethecarryingcapacityofcentralcities，build modernindustrialecosystems，andbuildregionaldevelopmentcommunities topromotecordinatedregionaleconomicdvelopment.
