Research on NOx Emission Characteristics of Heavy-duty Special Purpose Vehicles in the Real-world Application

Abstract:This paper obtained the working conditions,including vehicle speed and engine powers,and NOx emission characteristicsinthereal-worldapplicatiosofspecialpurposevehiclesicludingconcretepumptrucks,concretemixertrucks,ndcrane trucks basedonremote-monitoredemisionbigdatafromChina-6eavydutyvehicle.Resultsshowedthattheworkingconditionsinterealworldappicationsofspecialpurposevehiclescanbeseparatedintotwocompletelydiferentworkingconditions:roaddrivingand working.Workingcan have occupanciesof over 75% forspecial purpose vehicles.For heavy-duty special purpose vehicles.In road driving,theloadsofspecialpurposevicleswererelativelylargeandtheexhaustemperaturescanensuretheefectiveworkingofselective catalytic reduction(SCR)systems. NOx emissions can be effectively reduced,the requirements in emission regulations can be achieved.However,inworking,theengine loads were low,andthe inlet temperatures ofSCR systemscan drop to 150~160∘C or even lower,failing tomeetthe working requirementsof SCRcatalysts,leading to significantly increased NOx emissions exceeding the limitationintheemissonregulationsinreal-worldworking.Duetotheocupanciesofworkingtimebeingconsiderablyhigherthanthatof roaddrivingtie,specialemisionrequirementsshouldbeintroducedtoreduetheemissonsintheworkingofspecialpurposevehicles and regulate the real-world emissions of special purpose vehicles more effectively.
