Abstract:The BrakeAsist System(BAS)isacorecomponentof modernautomotiveactivesafetysystems.Its primary function istodetectthiver'semergencyrakingintetionandactivelyeacebrakingpressureaddresingteisueofreducedbaigeficiencycausedysuicientpdalfoeiniicalsatios.Fist,teiionndreeofBAreeplad,fodbyan overviewofitstechnologicalevolutionfrompassivetoactivesafetyBasedonAD89standardsandtheoperatioalcharacteristicsof theBASsystem,alongwithtestingprotocolsfordynamicoadconditions,eal-worldvehicletestdataisanalyzedtoexamine theactualperformanceofBAS incommercialvehicles.Thesafetybenefits,suchasreducingbrakingdistanceandloweringrear-endcolision rates,are further demonstrated through practical test data.
