Abstract：Toaddresstheadaptabitydisputeregardingthesideboardheightlimitsfordumpvehiclesintransportinglow-density goodssuchascoal，tissudyexaminesthematchngbetwncurretsideboardeightregulationsandvarouscargodensitiesBycomparingdomesticandinternationalregulatorypractices，andtakingumptrucksanddumpsem-trailersasresearchsubjects，thefully loadedheightrequirementsunderdiferentboxsizeswerecalculatedbasedontwotypicalcargodensities.Thefindingsindicatethate existing sideboard height limits for dump trucks are generallyadequate.However，the 600mm limit for dump semi-trailers prevents full utilizationofpayloadcapacityhentransportingcoal.Ratioalrecommendationsforadjustingthesideboardheightofdumpse-trailers are proposed.
