Abstract:Addresing theneedforoptimizingaerodynamicdragandwindnoise incommercialvehiclesduring high-speeddriving, thispaperpresentsarapidevaluationmethodforrearviewmirroraerodynamic-acousticperformancebasedonasimplifiedvehiclebody model.ByconstructingasimplifiedcabmodelthatretainskeyaerodynamicandacousticeaturessuchasthA-pillr,sidewindows, androof,andbyestablisngaonewaycoupledaerodyamic-acousticsimulatioprocesstosimultaneouslyassessthedragccients andsoundpressurelevelsintheside-windowregionforfourrearviewmirrorconfigurations(M1~M4).TheresultsrevealthattheM4 design excels in both drag coefficient( Cd=0.415 )and acoustic performance(average total sound pressure level of 122.61 dB at the side-windowmonitoringpoint),thankstoitssmalerwakevortexstructureandmoreuniformturbulentkineticenergydistrution, whichsignificantlyeducestheintensityoferodynamicnoisesources.Thisresearhprovidesaneficientandelablesimulatio-based decision-makingtoolforselectingrearviewmirrors incommercial vehicles,enablingrapiditerationandperformanceoptimization across multiple design options.
