Abstract：Sheet molding compounds have madesignificant progressinproducttypes，performance，production scale，and otheraspects.Inorder to meetthe current development needsof the industry，this paperis basedontherevisionplanof thestandardSheetmoldingcompound（SMC）forgeneralpurposesisuedbytheNationalStandardizationAdministration of China.In combination withthe industryresearch and performance test data accumulated during the standard drafting process，thepaper introduces the technicalstatus，manufacturingcapabilities，andspecificationsofgeneral SMCinChina. Inordertofacilitatereaders'correctunderstandingandimplementationofthestandard，andimproveproductandervice quality，thispaper interprets therelevant provisionsoftherevisedstandardShetmoldingcompound（SMC）forgeneral purposes.
