Abstract:Thedirectionalcharacteristicsof geometric toleranceZones and thedirectionaltolerancezones have always benaconfusing issue for personnel in theindustrydue to their similar wording.This paper deeply explores the conceptual differencesbetweenthetwoandanalyzes theiractualroles ingeometric tolerancecontrol.Itfurtherclarifies thediferences interminologybetweenthetwobyexaminingthefunctionsofthedirectionalplaneanddirectionelement auxiliarygridinGB/T82-2ol8.Finalyitilustratesthesignificanceofdirectionalcharacteristicsandtheapplication oftheauxiliary frame through two examplesofconicalsealing.Thepaper helpsengineering and technical personnel to better understand the directionalcharacteristics of geometric tolerancesand accurately applyrelevant standards.
