Analysis of Challenges and Coping Strategies for China's Participation in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership （RCEP）

Abstract：TheRegional ComprehensiveEconomicPartnership（RCEP），astheworld'slargestfreetradearea，provides animportant platform for China’s participation in regional economic cooperation.This paper analyzes the major challenges China faces inRCEPparticipation，including internalindustrial structureadjustment，inadequateregulatory adaptability，disparities indevelopment levelsofRCEPmembers，external politicalandeconomicchallenges，and inherent imperfections of the RCEP mechanism.To addressthese chalenges，corresponding strategiesare proposed： enhancing utilization rate of standards and regulations and promoting capacity building in the short term; promoting RCEP upgradingand expansionandrestructuring industrialchains in the medium term;deepeningregionalcooperation inthelongtermthroughunilateralopeninginitiativesandimproving governancemechanisms.Theresearch indicates that China needs tofullleverage the benefitsoftheRCEPthrough multi-levelpolicycoordinationandregionalcolaboration， toinject greater certainty into regional and global trade.
