Comparison of Two Refrigeration Methods in the Pre-concentration System for the Determination of 65 Volatile Organic Compounds in Ambient Air

Abstract:This paper adopts the pre-concentration gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS)to determine 65 volatileorganiccompounds(VOCs)inambientair,andcompares twopre-concentrationmethods,the liquid nitrogen cryogenicrefrigeration methodand electronicrefrigeration method.Bycomparing the linear correlationcoeficients, detection limits,precision,andaccuracyof the 65VOCsunderthetwo refrigeration methods,theresultsshowed no significant differences.Both methods mettherequirements specifedintheanalytical standardHJ759-2023,Ambient air-Determinationof65volatileorganiccompounds-Collcted incanisters andanalyzed bygas chromatography/ massspectrometry.Comparedtotheliquidnitrogenrefrigerationmethod,theelectronicrefrigerationmethodhasdistinct advantages,including independence from liquid nitrogen transportationconstraints,lowercosts,andno needforlongterm storage.
