Abstract:Semanticcommunication(SemCom)isanemerging technologythatintegrates inteligenceandcommunication.Itis expected to break throughthebandwidth botleneck of traditional communication and becomes anew communication paradigm forthe 6th generationmobilecommunicationsystem(6G).Currently,theaplicationofsemanticcommunicationtechnologyin edge computing scenarios hasachieved somepreliminaryresearchresults,but there isstillalackof systematicanalysisand summary.Topromotethefurtherdevelopmentofthesemanticommunicationfield,thisarticleelaboratedindetailontherepresentativeresearchachievementsofsemanticcommunicationinspecificcomputing task scenarios inthepast fiveyears fromthe perspectivesof theIntemetofTings(IoT)taskscenariosandgeneralizededgescenarios.Moreover,thebotleneck inthedevelopmentof semanticcommunication technology lies inthe high demand forcomputing power.Thecomputing power network (CPN)-rivensemanticcommunication has becomeanidealsolution tothis botleneck.Thearticlefurther introducedtheresearch status of thecomputing power network,adeacomparativeanalysisofthecharacteristics of edgecomputing andcomputingpowernetwork,deeplyanalyzedthepotentialof thecomputing powernetwork inpromotingthedevelopmentofsemantic communication technology,ndfinallylooked forward tothefutureresearch prospectsof thecomputing power networkandsemantic communication.
