[Abstract]Metabolicinflammation,achroniclow-gradeinflammatorystate,maydisruptinternalhomeostasisandenergy metabolismbalance,therebytriggeringmetabolicdisorders.Thegutmicrobiotaplaysacriticalroleinregulatinghostenergy metabolismandimmuneresponses,andmodulationofthegutmicrobiotacanefectivelymitigatetheprogressionofmetabolic inflammationAccordingtoChinesemedicine(CM)theory,thespleenisregardedasthefoundationofacquiredconstitutionfrom whichthetheoryof"thespleenactingastheguardofthebody"isderived.Thistheoryprofoundlyreflectsthespleen'sdual functions:regulatingenergymetabolismthroughthetransformationandtransportationofwater,foodandfluids,anddefending againstexteralpathogensbyparticipating inimmuneregulation.Thistheoryexhibitsasignificantcorelationwiththergulatory mechanismsof gutmicrobiota inmodernmedicine.Spleenqi deficiencyleads toanimpaireddefensivefunctionofthe spleen, disruptingmetabolicregulationandimmunebalanceinthebody.Thisresultsintheabnormalreleaseof inflammatoryfactorsnd ultimatelytrigersmetabolicinflammation.Tisifammatoryprocssisslowandpersistentanditslongprogesoay contributetothedevelopmentofvariousmetabolicdiseases,suchasdiabetesmelitus.Intreatingmetabolicinflammation,CM emphasizes the principleof addressingboth therotcauseandsymptoms,focusingonstrengthening the spleenandtonifyingqito strengthenthebody,whiletransformingturbidityandresolvingphlegmtoaleviatesymptoms.Ifthespleen’sguarding function remainscompromisedoveranextendedperiod,pathologicalproductssuchasphlegmturbidityandbloodstasiscanaccumulate, necesitatingtreatmentstrategiesthatnourishyinandemovetoxins.Furtherin-depthexplorationoftheinteractionmechanisms betweenthetheoryof"thespleenactingastheguardofthebody"andthegutmicrobiotainthedevelopmentandprogressionof metabolic inflammationwillprovide importanttheoretical guidanceand practical insights from CMforclinical treatment.
