Pattern identification and treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma based on the theory of mysterious mansion

[Abstract]Primaryopen-angle glaucoma （POAG） is clasifiedwithin thecategoryof "bluish glaucoma"in Chinesemedicine （CM）.LIUWansu'stheoryofmysterious mansion Xuanfubrokethroughthelimitationinthe HuangDiNeiJing （Huangdi’sClassic ofMedicine）thatregardedthemysteriousmansionmerelyassweat pores，establishingaCMmicro-levelpathologicalframework. Basedontheteoryofmysteriousmansion，ProfesorXELikeholdsthatthedfunctionofmysteriousmansionisthefuametal causethroughouttheentirecourseofPOAG，andthestagnationofaqueoushumouristhepathologicalbasisofthediseaseonset TheprogresionofPOAGcanbedividedintoreedistinctstages：theinitialstage，theprogressvestage，andtheadvancedstage. Intheinitialstageofthedisease，treatmentfocusesonsothingtheliverandclearingheattodredgethemysterious mansionand the modifiedDanzhi XiaoyaoPowdercanbeused.Intheprogresivestage，thetherapeutic principleistonifyingqiandcirculating bloodtounblockthemysteriousmansion，andthemodifiedBuyangHuanwuDecoctionisapliedIntheadvancedstage，thefocus isonnourishing theliverandkidneyandenriching theessencetosupportthefunctionofthemysteriousmansionandthe modifiedQijuDihuangPillisemployed.Tecoretherapeuticgoalistoensureteunimpededfunctionofthemysteriousmansion and facilitate the normal circulation of aqueous humour，thereby achieving both prevention and management of POAG.
