A Harmonic Mitigation Strategy for High-Speed Railway Traction Networks

Abstract: [Purposes] Aiming at the harmonic control problem in high-speed railway traction power supply systems,a hybrid harmonic mitigation strategy is proposed to further improve the harmonic suppression performance in high-speed railway traction networks.[Methods] The strategy combines an active power filter (APF)and a passive power filter (PPF),employs an improved detection algorithm to enhance thedynamic compensation performance of the APF,and designs a collaborative filtering system with single-tuned and high-pass branches.The approach is verified through Matlab/Simulink simulations. [Findings] Simulation results show that the system's total harmonic distortion (THD) is significantly reduced by using the hybrid topology strategy,demonstrating the eectiveness of APF-PPF collaborative filtering.[Conclusions] The strategy can reduce the capacity requirement of the APF while achieving precise suppression of specific frequency harmonics.
