Abstract：The Upper TempleattheBinglingsiGrotoes，whicharealso knownas the Bingling Cave Temples，is an importantandhighlyuniquelocationatthegrotoes.Duetoalackofhistoricalinformation，thedevelopmentandevolutionofte UpperTemple hasalways beenarelativelyvagueissuethathas been hotlycontestedamong scholars，particularlyregarding the dateofits initialconstruction.Inorder toexplorethehistoryofthetempleatBingling，thispaperhasconducteddetailedesearch bycombininginformationcollectedfromnewlydiscoverediscriptions，relevanthistoricaldocuments，andtheculturalmains of the Upper Temple，inan effort to clarify the course of its history.
