Abstract：The house numberedF26at Xuanquan PostinDunhuang，thewalsofwhichcontainseveral formal inscriptions， wasoriginallyspeculatedtohavebeenagovernmentofice.IntheHandynastyslipsunearthedfromEjinaandJianshuijinguan， however，thebianshu扁书publishedtoannounceoficialinformationwerealwayspostedinthe“prominentplaceoftheyeshe 褐舍outside the gateofthevillage，ting，li，or market"，or inthe“yesheoftheofficeof thevillage，ting，or li ”Study of these textsandotherextanthistoricaldocumentshasdeterminedthatyesherefers toaguesthouse，forwhichreasonitcanbeconcludedthatthe building withwallinscriptionsat XuanquanPost wasnotanoffcebutratherahouseused toprovide accommodations to travelers.Thistypeof guesthousenotonlyprovidedacommodationatthetime，italsoserved tocommunicate important informationtotravelersandvisitors intheregion.Guesthouses were thusaveryimportantspaceforculturaldiseminationandsocial governance during the Han dynasty.
