Abstract：From theexaminationofthespiritual worldof youth inthe“feichang”novel series tothedialecticalreflectionon the culture of“seeking the Dao”among intellectuals in Inquiryon the Wilderness，and furtherto the explorationoffaith in history through Kumarajiua，Xu Zhaoshou’s novels demonstrate an evolving pathof spiritual construction and inquir y.His works delveinto the spiritual dilemmas of human subjectivityand probeinto the practical significance of human existenceamid such dilemmas and interogate the future posibilities ofnational culture.This endows his literary writing with profound philosophical speculation and enduring humanistic value.Characters such as Lin Feng，Hu Zijie，Zhang Wei，Xia Mu，Chen Zixing，and Kumarajiva-each resolute in spirit and independent in character—vividly embody Xu Zhaoshou’s intelectual orientation of seeking the Dao across Eastern and Western traditions and his cultural confidence.
