Present situation and development countermeasures of ratoon rice production in Huizhou District

AbstractThe necessityof producing ratoon rice in Huizhou District，Huangshan City，Anhui Province was summarized.Based on thecurent status of ratoon riceproduction in the studyarea，aspects that required further improvementwereidentified，and corresponding countermeasureswereproposed.The promotionof ratoon rice production wasconsidered beneficial for increasing total yield，raising farmers’income，improving ricequality，and effectivelyreducing agriculturallosss caused byflood disasters.Althoughthe plantingarea ofratoonriceinthe study areahad increasedyear byyearaspects suchasthe scaleofcultivation，mechanizationlevel，industrial system，and policysupport still need enhancement.To promote thesustainable development of this industry，aseries of countermeasures were proposed：training and publicitywere strengthened to improve farmers’understanding of ratoon rice cultivation techniques; full-processmechanized production was advanced by introducing machinery suitable for ratoonrice harvesting to enhance theyieldof theratoonseason;characteristicbrands weredeveloped to boost the marketcompetitiveness andaddedvalueofratoonriceproducts throughbrand buildingandthe integrationof agriculture andtourism; support fortheratoon rice industrywas intensified byestablishing special subsidies，giving fullplay to the roleof agricultural industrialization consortia，and adopting order-based production models to improve production effciency.This paper providedareferencefor promoting thedevelopmentoftheratoon rice industry inrelevantregions and advancing the process of agricultural modernization.
