AbstractAsone of the common garden pests, termites hinder the absorption and transmission of water and nutrientsbyplants, which inturn leads to weak growthofplantsandseriouslyaffcts theoverall healthand sustainable development of garden greening.Thebiologicalcharacteristics, damage features of termites in landscaping and their impacts on the economy and ecology weresystematically analyzed. At the same time,an integrated management strategy that combines physical control, biological control andchemical control was proposed.Termites have slender bodies with flat abdomens.Their mouthpartsare suitable for chewingand they are wel-suited to feeding on plant-based foods such as wood.It is composed of various roles such as worker ants, soldiersandreproductive ants. The types, agesand health conditions of garden plants allaffect the extent of termite infestation, and the internal structure of wood that had been eroded by termites was hollwed out and damaged, anditscompressive strength dropped significantly.Termites have had certain negative impacts onboth theeconomyand theecology.Termite erosion notonly accelerates the decay and damageof wood but also disrupts the natural balance of the garden ecosystem.Adopting acomprehensive management strategy that combines physical control, biological control and chemicalcontrolisconducivetoreducingthedamagecausedbytermites.Interms of physicalcontrol, termites canbe controlled through methodssuchastemperatureregulation, sound wavepestcontrol, lightatraction, andobstacle protection. In termsof biologicalcontrol, termitesarecontrolled bythe introductionof natural enemiesand the applicationofbiologicalagents.Interms ofchemical control, chlorpyrifos, pyrethroidsandimidaclopridareused to controltermites.Thisarticleprovidesareference for the systematic managementof termitesandthe improvementof the quality of landscaping.
