Planting performance and high yield cultivation techniques of hybrid rice Wanyou 66 in Wuyishan

AbstractWanyou 66 was a mid-late maturing three-line hybrid rice variety using the indica-type three-line sterile line Wan8Aas the female parent and thehighquality，blast-resistant restorer lineWanhui 66as the male parent.The characteristics and high yield cultivation techniques of this variety were introduced inthe Wuyishan region ofFujian Province.From2O22 to2O24，multi-location demonstrationand trial experimentsof thisvarietywere conductedin Wuyishan City.Itwas characterizedbyasuitablegrowth period，strong tileringability，anduniform panicle structure in field cultivation. The yield ranged from 8 349.4 to 9 596.0kg/hm2 . The variety exhibited resistance torice blast andgood lodging resistance，aswellasahigh headricerate，goodgrain appearance，anddesirable palatability.Its highyieldcultivation techniques includedselectinganappropriate sowingdate （lateApril toearlyMay） andadjusting the seeding rateaccording to diffrent transplanting methods；cultivating strong seedlings through treatments such aschemical seed soaking，paclobutrazol application，and“farewell fertilizerandfarewellpesticide" before transplanting；achieving reasonable planting density to establish aneficient population；implementing a fertilizationstrategyof“heavybasefertilizer，earlytopdressng，andsupplementalpanicleand grain fertilizer”combined with a water management model of“shalow water，sun-drying，andalternating wet and dryconditions”to promote tillering， panicle formation，and lodging resistance; applying pesticides such as 16% emamectin benzoate·indoxacarb at 150g/hm2 to control pests like the rice stem borer; and harvesting under sunny conditions when 90% of the panicles were mature.This study provides a reference for the promotion and cultivation of this variety in relevant regions.
