Abstract:To evaluate the indoor toxicity levels and provide a scientific basis for the green control of Cylas formicarius inthe field,this study investigated the laboratory eficacyoffour biogenic insecticides-matrine,rotenone,azadirachtin,and avermectin-using three bioassay methods:immersion,dipping,and film residue.All four compounds exhibited insecticidal activity against adult weevils,with toxicity levels generally increasing over time.Among the treatments,avermectin showed the highest toxicity in the immersion method,with a 72-hour LC50 value of 65.75mg/L ,followed by matrine ( 172.97mg/L ),rotenone(210.73 mg/L),and azadirachtin (297.07mg/L ).In contrast,when using the dipping method,rotenone and azadirachtin exhibited lower LC 50 (2 values than avermectin and matrine,indicating higher toxicity.In the film residue assay,avermetinagain demonstrated the greatest toxicity.Although the three methods yielded diffring results,the filmresidue method generallyresulted inlower toxicitylevelsforallcompounds.Thisstudyprovides essentialdata forthe potentialapplication of these four biogenic insecticides in the sustainable management of C. formicarius.
