Effects of Hydrothermal Aqueous Phase from Chicken Manure on Functional Genes Involved in Carbon, Nitrogen, and Phosphorus Cycling in Dryland Soil

Abstract: Hydrothermal aqueous phase (HAP) from animal manure has the potential to be used as liquid nitrogen fertilizer,but its efectson soil carbon,nitrogen,and phosphoruscycling bacteria are not yet clear.In this study,urea and HAP form chicken manure were appliedas nitrogen fertilizers to drylandsoil,and the diferences in bacterial elemental cycling genes were compared after 37 days of incubation.The results showed that a total of 53 functional genes were detected on the gene chip,with a detection rate of 74.65% . Compared to urea, HAP significantly increased the 16S rRNA and the hydrolysis genes of starch (apu and sga )and hemicellulose (abfAand xylA),while reducing the chitin hydrolysis gene( chiA )and the nitrification gene (amoA2). Elemental cycling pathway analysis showed that HAP promoted complete denitrification and phosphorus release, whileinhibiting organic nitrogen mineralization,ammonification,and nitrification.Thisstudy provides theoretical references for the utilization ofHAP from animal manure as fertilizer.
