Breeding of a New High -Quality Purple - Flesh Sweetpotato Cultivar ‘ Qinzishu 4'

Abstract： ‘ Qinzishu is a newly developed high -quality edible purple - flesh sweetpotato cultivar derived from‘Yuzishu 7’through open polinationand systematic selection.It wasofficially registered in June 2022 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Afairs of China （registration number： GPD Sweetpotato （2022） 610025）.This cultivar exhibits several outstanding traits：First，it demonstrates high and stable yields，with average fresh and dry tuber yields of 35558.25kg/hm2 and 9829.95kg/hm2 ，respectively， representing increases of 7.91% and 5.54% compared to the control cultivar‘Ningzishu 1’. Second， it has superior edible quality，with major nutritional indicators-including crude protein，soluble sugars，anthocyanin content，andsensory score-that exced those of the control.Third，the cultivar features uniform，spindle-shaped tubers with purplered skinand purple flesh，showing good tuber uniformity，concentrated tuber formation，a high proportionof marketable roots，and strong consumer acceptance.Fourth，it shows uniform sprouting，good storability，and high resistance to stem nematode disease，performing well in areas with high nematode incidence in eastern Guanzhong， Shaanxi.
