Discussion on Etiology， Pathogenesis， Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Breast Cancer Based on Collateral-Unblocking Theory

Abstract：Breast cancer is currentlyone of the most common malignancies in women.Ancient and modern traditional Chinese medicine（TCM）practitioners classify it under categories such as breast rock and breast stone，in TCM.Basedon thecolateral-unblocking theory，this study proposes that collateral damageand toxin accumulation and phlegm-stasis transforming intocancer constitute thecore pathogenesis.Thedisease progression is divided into three pathological stages.1）Early stage：Characterizedby liver collateral constraint and stagnation，andphlegm-qi congealing incolaterals，mediating breastcancer onset.Treatment focuses onsoothing theliver toresolve constraint and resolving phlegm to moveqi to unblock collaterals，using modified Chaihu Shugan Powdercombined with Er Chen Decoction.2）Middle stage：Marked byinterbinding of phlegm and stasis and toxin formation in stagnantcolaterals， accelerating breast cancer progression.Treatment emphasizes eliminating stasis and resolving phlegm，and resolving toxins to disipate masses tounblock colaterals，using modified Taohong Siwu Decoction combined with Haizao Yuhu Decoction.3）Late stage：Defined by deficientcollterals accumulating toxins and cancer toxinsdamaging colaterals， affecting breast cancerprognosis.Treatment adoptsreinforcing healthy qi to suppress tumors，and integrating unblocking with tonification to nourish colaterals，using modified self-formulated Fuzheng Yiliu Prescription.The therapeutic approach prioritizesunblocking as thefunctional principleand integrating unblocking with tonification， roviding a novel perspective for TCM-based breast cancer treatment.
