Analysis of Acupuncture for Postpartum Depression Based on the Correlation of the "Gate-Bolt-Hinge" Theory and Meridian

Abstract：The theory of gate-bolt-hinge is one of the important contents of Huang DiNei Jing Tai Su （Grand Simplicity of‘The Yellow Emperor's Inner Clasic’），which refers to Taiyang and Taiyin as the gate，Yangming and Jueyin as thebolt，and Shaoyang and Shaoyin as the hinge.Thetheoryof gate-bolt-hinge explains theqi transformation rulesofthethreeyinandthree yangofthehandsandfet.Basedonthephysiologicalfunctions and pathological changes of the gate-bolt-hingeand its correlation with meridians，thisarticleanalyzes the etiologyand pathogenesisof postpartum depressionas functional impairment of thegate-bolt leads toover-consumptionof qi and blood，with deficiencyand stasiscoexisting；whileimpairmentofthe hinge-bolt functionresults infailureofthe blood to nourish the heart，causing disturbance of mentalactivity.In thetreatment of postpartum depression，acupuncture is recommended to regulate the gate-boltofTaiyin-Taiyang-Yangming，enabling essenceand blood to converge and generate normally; andto nourish the hinge-boltofJueyin-Shaoyin，thus promoting harmonious distributionand storage ofqi and blood.

产后抑郁症（PPD）即现代医学的产褥期抑郁症，是指产妇在产褥期出现以情绪低落为基本特征的一组精神障碍，主要症状为抑郁、焦虑、心悸征忡、情绪低落、寡言、失眠等异常情绪，同时兼见神疲乏力、纳少便溏、皖闷腹胀、面色苍白或晦暗等表现，严重者可出现杀婴或自杀现象[。（剩余5557字）
