Abstract：Based on the acupuncture-related texts recorded in Qian Jin Yao Fang（Important Formulas Worth a Thousand Gold Pieces）and Qian Jin Yi Fang（Suppementto‘Important Formulas Worth a Thousand Gold Pieces’）， this studyanalyzes SUN Simiao's acupuncture point selectionapproach．SUN Simiao's acupuncture point selection approach is mainlyreflected inthe following fiveaspects：preciseacupoint location，pulse diagnosis for syndrome diferentiationand acupoint selection，emphasis on extra-meridian acupoints，creation of the Ashi points，and proficient use of thefive Shu points.SUN Simiao greatly enriched and developed the study of acupuncture acupoints， exertinga profound influence on the standardization of acupoint selection in acupuncture based on syndrome differentiation and the establishment of individualized treatment models in later generations.
