Discussion on Treatment of Influenza in Lingnan Region Based on Epidemic Theory of Chinese Medicine

Abstract：Explores the etiology，pathogenesis，and treatment of influenza in the Lingnan region from the perspective of the epidemic theoryof Chinese medicine.The main cause of influenza in Lingnan region is epidemic toxin, supplemented bydampness pathogen，which forming acomplex etiology.The pathogenesis evolution of influenza in the Lingnan region was divided into five stages and proposing a staged treatment strategy: ①In the initial stage，the disease is located in the lung defense and muscle surface，and the treatment should be acrid-col dispersing, dispelling dampness and penetrating the pathogen； ② When the epidemic toxin enters the interior and damages the lung collterals ，the treatment should be clearing heat，draining dampness，resolving blood stasisand detoxifying ; ③ When dampnessand phlegm obstruct，and toxinand stasis bind together，causing critical syndromes，the treatment should be unblocking the fu organs， purging heat， removing dampness and turbidity； ④ In the critical stage，when the healthyqi is deficientandthe pathogenis lingering，with both yinandyang deficiency，the treatment shouldbe warming yang and dissolving dampness or boosting qi and nourishing yin； ⑤ In the recovery stage，with yin damage, qiconsumption，and residual pathogens，the treatment should be boostingqi，nourishing yin，strengthening the spleenandremoving dampness.Thestagedtreatment strategy proposed in this studyisbasedon thecharacteristicsof the Lingnan region，emphasizing the importance of dampness-removing methods and rationally using authentic Lingnan medicinal materials.
