Clinical Study on Acupuncture Combined with Guben Peiyuan Decoction in Treating Alzheimer's Disease of Kidney Deficiency and Phlegm Stasis Type

Abstract:Objective:To observe the curative effect of the therapyof acupuncture combined with Guben Peiyuan Decoction on Alzheimer's disease of kidney deficiencyand phlegm stasis type.Methods:A total of 126 patients with Alzheimer's diseaseof kidney deficiencyand phlegm stasis type in Wenzhou Seventh People's Hospital from March 2021to September 2O23 were selectedas the studyobjects，and were divided into thecontrol groupand the treatment group according to random number table method，with 63 patients in each group.Inthe treatment course，three cases were eliminated inboth groups，and 6O cases in both groups completed thestudy.Thecontrol group was treated with western medicinecombined with acupuncture，and the treatment group was additionally given Guben Peiyuan Decoction basedonthe treatmentof thecontrolgroup.Both groups were treatedfortwomonths.Theclinical effctsand incidenceof adverse reactions were compared between the two groups，and the changes of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores，Alzheimer's Disease Asessment Scale-cognitive section (ADAS-cog）and Activities of Daily Living （ADL) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results:The total effctiverate was 96.67 % (58/ 60）in the treatment group and 78.33% (47/60） in the control group，the difference being significant ( P 0.05).Conclusion:The therapy of acupuncture combined with Guben Peiyuan Decoction has a great therapeutic ffect onAlzheimer'sdisease，which can efectivelyrelieve symptoms likephysicaldiscomforts，improvecognitive function and activities of daily living，with great safety.
