Meta-Analysis of Curative Effect of Electroacupuncture on Sudden Deafness

Abstract：Objective：To systematically evaluate the clinical effect of electroacupuncture in treating sudden deafness through evidence-based medicine methods.Methods：A systematic search was conducted on randomized controled trials of electroacupuncture treatment for sudden deafness in databases such as CNKI，Wanfang，VIP， Pubmed，Embase，Web of Science，and Cochrane Library from thetimeof database establishment until October7， 2024.Tworesearchers referred to the bias risk assessment tool provided bytheCochrane Collboration and conducted a Meta-analysis using RevMan 5.3 software.Results：A total of eight articles were included，with a sample size of 638 cases，including 321 cases in the trial groupand 317cases in the control group.The Meta-analysis results showed that the total effective rate（RR -1.23 ， 95% CI[1.07，1.41]，P=0.003），cure rate（RR=1.73，95%CI[1.28， 2.34]，P=0.000 4），and total effective rate（ RR=1.25 ， 95% CI[0.99，1.57]，P=0.06）of electroacupuncture treatment forsudden deafness inthetrial group were higher thanthose inthecontrol group；the average hearing threshold inthe trial group was lower than that in the control group（M 1D=-6.29 ， 95% CI[-9.01，-3.56]， P<0.000 01 ），and differences were significant （ P<0.05 ）.Conclusion： Electroacupuncture treatment for sudden deafness can improve the overall effective rate，cure rate，dizziness overalleffective rate，and improve the average hearing threshold.
