Effect of Standardized Postoperative Pain Management Program on Improving Patient Satisfaction

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the efect of standardized postoperative pain management in improving the satisfaction of general surgery patients.Methods: 400 adult patients who received hernia repair, perianal abscess incisionanddrainage andanalfistularadicaloperation in theSecondPeople's HospitalofJiuquanCityGansuProvince from January 2022to January2024were selectedasthe studyobjects,andrandomlydividedinto thecontrol groupand the experimental group,with 200 patients in each group.The control group received conventional postoperative pain management methods, while the experimental group received a seriesof standardized postoperative pain management programs, including regular pain assessment, on-demand analgesic medication, and early activity guidance. During the overall study, pain scores (using visualanalogue scale VAS),analgesic drug use, and patient satisfaction survey results ere recorded in both groups.Results:Theaverage postoperative pain score of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group , especially in the 24 hours after surgery. In addition, patients in the experimental group were 90% satisfied with the analgesic effect, compared to 65% in the control group. The frequency of analgesic drug use also showed a more reasonable trend in the experimental group, which not only ensured the analgesic effectbutalsoavoidedtheriskofexcessivedrug use.Conclusion:The standardized postoperative pain management program can efectively reduce the pain level of patients after general surgery, improve their satisfaction withpaincontrol,andhelpacceleratetherehabilitation process,soitisrecommendedtobepopularizedin clinical application.
