Abstract: Mold manufacturing occupies a crucial position in modern manufacturing industries. The efficiency and precision of its design and manufacturing processes directly affect product quality and production cycles. Traditional scheduling methods have limitations in handling complex sequences and resource constraints, resulting in extended production cycles and increased costs. This paper introduces the ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm as a solution. By setting machine continuous scheduling and processing time as agreed conditions, along with initialization parameters,an optimized scheduling model suitable for the mold design and manufacturing process is constructed. The ACO system's state transition,local update,and global update rules are employed to model the manufacturing process, optimizing job allocation and tool scheduling. Experimental results demonstrate that the ACO algorithm can effectively shorten mold development cycles and improve production efficiency.
