Application of 3D printing technology in automotive stamping mold maintenance

Abstract: In the field of automobile manufacturing, 60%~70% of metal parts rely on stamping die forming technology. However, the overall replacement of molds faces pain points such as high manufacturing costs,long repair cycles,and fast production rhythms of automobiles. Therefore,local maintenance of automobile stamping dies is the preferred maintenance method for enterprises,which can significantly improve production efciency and reduce production costs. This article takes the car back door outer panel as an example. Based on the original stamping mold,3D printing technology is used to manually repair the stamping mold according to customer demands. This effectively solves the problems of long stamping mold modification cycle, high cost,and difficulty,improves production efficiency and maintenance costs, and provides technical support and typical cases for subsequent related work.
