Abstract: Geological storage of carbon dioxide (CO2) involves injecting captured CO2 into deep underground geological formations, such as salineaquifersepletedilandgasseoisndeableoalmssinegeigmethds.ajoutrsodidpo vast potential for CO2 geological storage,ofering ample storage space to helpachieve global net-zero emissions.This paper summarizes the current status of CO2 geologicalsequestration applications bothin Chinaand intemationallyandanalyzes thekeychalenges China willface inthisarea:tegegptwencarbonstoagetecholgandthiteatioadvacedvel,teckofeatiedamicoitoring andlong-temmoitorndtesourceoveingofationoftigtandtedivisioofsosibiltIdertoly promotete pilottestandlarge-saleapplication,thisarticleproposes thefolowingsuggestionsandmeasures:promotecollbation between industry,academia,and research institutions to develop efficient and safe CO2 storage technologies.Furthermore,a comprehensive monitoringsystemtegatigultiplegprecisin,igsesivitychquesmustbetablishdtoesurelong-teotios, andstablemoitoringItisalsocucialtoarifthesouearbutesanddevelopentproitisofdeecarbonstoagspacdto formulateincentivepoliciesandmanagementmeasuresfortesynergsticdevelopmentofmutipleresoures.Teimplementatioofthe aforementioned measures willeffectively advance the development of China's geological CO2 storage technology, providing critical support for addressing climate change and achieving the goals of peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality.
