Analysis of Decoupling of Industrial Water Use and Industry Contribution in Regional Industrial Clusters

Abstract:InodertoexplorethedecouplingstatusanddrivingmechanismsbetweenindustrlonomyandwateruseinChina’sinustrial clusters,thisstuduiltaTapiodecoulingdrivingfectmodelforindustrialwaterusebasedontheextendedKayaidentityandtheLogarithmicMeanDivisiaIndex(LMD)decompositionmethod.Themodelwasappliedtosystematicallevaluatethedecouplingstatusandits driversintraditoalplridustcustersinHenanProvincfroto16.eresultssowtata)Teoverllcusterhasaceved strong decoupling between industrial water use and economic output,with a total decoupling effect of -2.200 ; b) The water-saving progress effect serves as the main positive driving factor,showing a continuously increasing trend,with a contribution rateof -88.8% in 2015-2016; c)The industrial scale efect remains the dominant negative driver,but its contribution ratedeclines steadily from 100% in 2011-2012 to (2 47.8% in 2015-016;d)Thewateruseficiencyefectreversesfromapositivetoanegativedriverduring2Ol3-2O14,reachingacontribution rate of 52.2% in 2015-2016;e)The industrialstructure efect maintainsa stablepositive impactand thecontributionrate to ndustrial waterdecouplingscangeduch;f)Sixidustries(iudingoal,lctricityicals,etalugometallcals,d textiles)aeeystosdiingtecoupligproc.Tepracticallcatiooftodeldmostratesitsbilitdoe dustrialwaterusedecoulingefectsacrossmultipledimensios,dentifyectoralcontributions,andprovidetechicalsupprtforater saving governance and policy formulation in industrial clusters.
