[Abstract]ObjectiveToexploretheeffectivenessofateaching modelcombining the plan-do-check-act（PDCA）cycle with Mini-ClinicalEvauationExercise（Mini-CEX）inthequalitycontrolof inlayrestorationtrainingfordental interns.Methods Fortydental interns wererandomlydivided intoPDCAteaching group（PDCA group）andtraditional teaching group.ThePDCA group receivedtrainingusing the PDCAcyclecombined with clinicalteaching，whilethetraditional teaching groupunderwentconventionaltraining.Attheendoftraining，bothgroups wereaessedforinlayrestorationskillsusingtheMini-CEXtool.Results Aftertraining，thePDCAgroupshowed significantincreasesinthe mean scores andpassratesforrestorationdesign，toothpreparation，impression taking，and temporary restoration （t=7.678-9.647，χ2=7.025-12.379，P<0.05） ； the traditional group exhibited significantly improved mean scores for all the four skills t=6.164-10.177，P<0.05） ，with significant increases in the pass rates for tooth preparation，impression taking，and temporary restoration （χ2=2.133-5.013，P<0.05） ，but with no significant change in the pass rate for restoration design （ ⋅P>0.05） .Compared with the traditional group，the PDCA group showed significantlygreaterimprovements inthe mean scoresforrestorationdesign，tooth preparation，impresiontaking，and temporaryresto ration （t=2.450-4.133，P<0.05） ，though the pass rates did not differ significantly（ P>0.05 .Conclusion Compared with traditionalteaching，thePDCAcyclecombinedwithMini-CEXefectivelyenhancesdentalinters’clinicalinlayrestoratioskils.
