[Abstract]ObjectiveToinvestigate thefeatures ofdistortion product otoacoustic emision(DPOAE)andelectrocochleog raphy(EcochG)intinntus patients withnormalhearing,andtoexploretheiraplicationvalueintinitusassssment.Methods Atotalof34tinnituspatients(38ears)withnormalhearing wereenroledasobservation group,and25healthycontrols(50ears) with normal hearingand theabsence of tinnitus wereenrolledas control group.DPOAEand EcochG testing were performed for both groups,andthe two groups were comparedin terms of DPOAE passrate and signal-to-noiseratio(SNR)at each frequency point,as well as - summating potential (-SP) ,compound action potential(AP)of auditory nerve,and -SP/AP ratio on EcochG,while thediference in DPOAEresponse amplitude was compared between acute and chronic tinnitus.ResultsCompared withthecontrolgroup,theobservationgrouphadasignificantlylowerdetectionrateofDPOAEat0.5o,O.75,1.0o,2.00, and 3.00kHz frequency points ⟨χ2=3.63-37.36,P<0.05⟩ and a significantly lower SNR of DPOAE at 0.50-4.00kHz frequency points ( t=-9.85 to -6.42,P<0.01⟩ . Compared with the control group,the observation group had a significantly lower AP amplitude (t=-8.01,P<0.01) and a significantly higher -SP/AP ratio (t=13.00,P<0.01) ,while there was no significant difference in -SP amplitude between the two groups ( P>0.05 .There was only a significant difference in DPOAE response amplitude at 1.50kHz frequency point between the patients with acute tinnitus and those with chronic tinnitus (t=2.34,P<0.05) .ConclusionTinitus patients with normalhearing mayhaveearlydamageofthecochlea,whichisnotlimitedtoaspecificfrequency,and theeffectofdurationoftinnitusoncochlearfunction mightnotbeadeterminingfactor.DPOAEandEcochGcanbeusedasobjective methods for the diagnosis of tinnitus,showing an important valuein assessing the early damage of the cochlea.
