Air suspension actuator fault diagnosis and isolation based on geometric relationships

Abstract:Afaultdiagnosisandisolationmethodbasedongeometricrelationships isproposed.Itaimstofindoutthefault locationofthevehicle'selectronicallycontrolledairsuspensionactuatormorequicklywhenitfailsandtodiagnoseandisolate thefaults.Theactuatorstuckfaultandconstantgainfaultaredesigned.Twosetsoffaultdiagnosisindexesaredesignedbased ongeometricrelationship.Thefaultdiagnosisandisolationofthefaultyactuatorarecarryoutaccording totherelatioship betweenthefaultdiagnosisindexesandthethresholdvalue.TheAMESimisusedtobuildthephysicalmodelofelectronially controlldairsuspensionsystem with vehicle speedandroad excitationasinputs,and Simulinkisused tobuildthePID/PWM bodyheightcontrolermodel,thefaultmodel,andthefaultdiagnosticmodelwiththechangeofbodyheightoutputfromthe sensorsasinputs.Finally,theyareverifidbytheAMESim-Simulinkjointsimulation.Fromthesimulationresults,itcabe concludedthatthefaultdiagnosisandisolationmethodbasedongeometricalrelationshipcandiagnosethefaultyactuator efectivelyandisolatethefaultyactuatoracurately.TheAMESimisutilizedtobuildelectronicallycontrolledairsuspension, whichavoidscomplicatedmathematical formula derivationanddescribesthewholesystemmoreacurately.Theproposed fault diagnosisandisolationmethodbasedongeometricrelationshiphavesimpledesignandcandiagnoseandisolatethelocationof faulty actuators quickly.
